Do You Ever Ask the Why?

Do you ever ask the why to anxiety?

Trust God and Cast Your Care to Him

Break the cycle of anxiety

Get Thrown off Track

you may go through the water but you will not drown

We can all get thrown off track which can trigger anxiety

Ever had something happen that was so unexpected and thrown off track? For example, you are coming home from work and in a car wreck, but it's not your fault. The person who hits you has no insurance. You are injured, cannot work for a few days, and have no sick leave left. Then, physical therapy three times a week. The debt is accumulating. Insurance is fighting against the claim.

The deep feelings of being overwhelmed kick in. A strange feeling of anxiety looms over the bend. Then you say, "Why, Lord, you say, why did this happen to me?" "What did I do to deserve all this?" "Did I deserve this?" "What did I do wrong," as you cry out to the Lord. But, an eerie silence of nothing in return. Again, you cry, "Why, Lord, is this happening to me?" Again, that strange feeling of anxiety but this time more potent than the first, and you begin to shake. You feel alone and baffled as to why God is not answering. Can you relate?

It is in us to know the why and to ask why. We want to understand if we did something wrong to deserve this calamity of events.

In Proverbs 3:5-6 it says, "[5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path."

This verse means for us to trust in the Lord without knowing the why. Not easy, but God has our best interest.

So why do you immediately believe it is your fault, or maybe some believe you deserve all the bad things that happened to you and that you are this terrible person?

Maybe you grew up in a conditionally loved home? I once met a girl who, when she would be in a disagreement with her mom, her mom would tell her, "I don't love you the same. You will have to earn it back."

In what was spoken over her, word curses, she blamed herself every time something went wrong like it was her fault even when it was evident. Who was she listening to in her mind? Not only that, she had to prove herself worthy in everything she did.

The good news is the Lord loves us unconditionally and gives us the courage to trust God for the unanswered questions, knowing that one day we will understand. Reading and studying the Bible is helpful, too.

If you can trust Him, the Great I Am who created the universe, then there is no reason to go in overwhelming feelings of anxiety, stress, and fear.

Trust Him regardless. Stand on Hebrews  11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." See beyond the problem and look for the great miracle of God.
