Big emotions are real, and it’s OK to have them. Unless it causes anxiety. I will share five steps to kick out anxiety to quiet the mind so that you can have peace vs. torment.
It’s not that emotions are more significant than God’s truth (they aren’t an excuse to sin), but they are normal and need to be processed, especially if you feel overwhelmed.
But have you ever been so emotionally upset and then anxious that you can’t process ANYTHING?!
It’s so essential first to find calm acknowledge our feelings, and hear the truth.
The great news is that Christ can
help us manage our feelings in all three ways:
He calms and comforts our hearts when we’re hurting,
He gives us much-needed space to process and
He lovingly guides us in truth.
I use specific God-given techniques as a regular stress-relief habit, and when emotions and anxiety are high, I need to calm down.
It’s a wonderfully practical way to connect with God for emotional management!
