Reward Accomplishments if you Break your Habits

Reward Accomplishments if you Break your Habits

Oct 23, 2021
overcoming anxiety

Life becomes more worth living when you know that for every good thing that you did, a reward is bound to come your way. By this time, you already know that stopping your addictions is possible only if you will really put your heart and mind to it. The last but definitely not the least tool for you to completely free yourself from your bad habits is learning to reward yourself for every accomplishment that you make.

Through meaningful rewards, you can be more motivated to do better the next day and you will strive even harder to make sure that you will get another great reward in the future. With this kind of inspiration and motivation, you will have the drive to become better and better every day as you finish your journey to complete recovery from your addiction.

Every Accomplishment Deserves a Good Reward

Reward systems are being used in many situations today. At home, in schools and even in workplaces, a reward system is considered as a helpful tool for people to do better. This serves as a motivation for the children to do their chores at home. Students learn to embrace their lessons better and complete their homework because they know that they will be rewarded for everything that they do.

Employees feel more valued and appreciated when their employees reward them for their achievements. Reward systems can certainly do wonders when it comes to inspiring people to strive better and even in your recovery from addiction, rewarding yourself for every accomplishment that you make can inspire you to move forward and finish what you have started.

Maybe you could say no to your friends’ invitation to go to the bar after work. Perhaps the sight of marijuana no longer made you feel any cravings to take a toke. Maybe you were able to stop yourself from watching the porn video that popped up during your search.

These things might seem like a simple accomplishment for others, but for those who are addicted to alcohol, marijuana, and pornography, these simple actions are a giant leap on their way to recovery, and these things definitely deserve some reward.

The rewards will be all up to. You can either set it for yourself or ask your family and friends to give you something for every accomplishment you make. The main point here is that you will get something good out of being able to resist the lure of your addictions.

At the end of the day, it is not really the reward that matters. What matters is that even if there is no reward, it will now be easier for you to say No to your addictions. This is because you have already accepted in your heart and mind that your bad habits will never do you any good, and letting them go is the only way for you to live the kind of life you want, the life you deserve.

Hopefully, this article has helped you in learning how to stop your addictions. Use the tools you discovered to break free from all your bad habits.

Practical Steps out of Spirit of Fear

Practical Steps From the Spirit of Fear

What is the spiritual Root of Fear

Practical Steps out of Spirit of Fear

What is fear? Fear is a worry, projecting fear, etc. It can be a worrying issue at the job, worry over finances, worries over your children. It can be stressful, which is internal by some expectation you put on yourself or by others trying to perform and having that fear of man, failure, rejection if you do not do a good job, and many other types of fear. More symptoms of fear...

Some of the symptoms of fear:
  • cold hands,
  • cold feet,
  • tension in the neck or soreness,
  • leg cramps,
  • racy mind,
  • confused thinking when overwhelmed with life.

  1. Make a decision (resist) and tell God you don't want fear anymore. You need to make a bold declaration to the Lord. I do not accept the fear in your life anymore.
  2. Ask God to discern how fear is impacting your life. Find out where fear entered your life.
  3. Repent to God, specifically for each way you have given into fear, not trusted Him, and not believed in His Word. You have to do that when fear is present. That means when you are having a panic attack or struggling with fear, repent to fear because fear is a sin. It is opposite to God because everything about God is faith. Fear is a spirit, according to 2 Timothy 1:7: "He did not give us a spirit of fear but of sound mind...
  4. Ask God to forgive you for these sins or fears you have entertained and to work in your heart so that you can genuinely trust and believe God and be free from fear.
  5. Walk in this every day. How do you break old habits? You are developing new habits by doing this daily until you have God as your faith instead of being ruled by fear and anxiety. That means to ask God to deliver you from this spirit of fear.
  6. When fear tries to come, quote the word at it or the enemy. 2 Timothy 1:7 for God has not given me a spirit of fear but of a sound mind. The word is a spiritual weapon. Ask the Lord to help you to believe his word as truth, and will not believe what fear is saying to you anymore. Look up the promises of God in scripture to combat fear.
  7.  Find a ministry that understands deliverance and can work to bring you to freedom. Especially if a person has had trauma. Trauma brings in fear that can grip, so look for a ministry to deal with the spirit of fear.

Every time we feel fear rising up in us, we have to decide what we will believe. When you believe in God's word, which repeatedly declares that when you trust Him, He will protect and care for you and save you from all your trouble or anxiety. Or will we accept the fear that speaks against the word of God?

This is a part you play to get fear defeated in your life. You must continually choose to believe God no matter what things might look like to you in your natural eyes or mind. Then, you will have a living faith in the word of god to come to pass in your lives.
Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life whom shall I be afraid of?
