Fear of Man in the Bible*

A Spirit Fear of Man in the Bible

Five Steps to Overcoming Fear of Man

You can break free from fear of man

Solomon tells us the “fear of man will prove to be a snare” (Proverbs 29:25). Just as an animal caught in a trap can't perform its God-given function when you or I give in to the fear of man, we can't do what God is calling us to do.

'Fear of Man' (simply) describes caring about what a man (male or female) will do to you, what the person thinks about you, how you appear to others, and whether your actions or lack of actions will please others. The torment never ends. That's one way you can recognize it. (Is there any torment in your thoughts toward that person, yourself, or God?)

Fear of man causes people to please and try to live up to their expectations. This can cause anxiety attacks.

You have to understand how the accuser of Rev.12:10 operates. We are born into a world of accusation and are so accustomed to it that we often think it's our own thoughts or even the thoughts of God. You also have to deal with victimization on many levels-generationally, yourself, and addiction (because sometimes it's such a part of our lives, we wouldn't know what to do if we were not being victimized). Rejection is also a big issue. Also, I agreed with the spirit of 'fear of evil in man.'

The best way to come out of agreement with the spirit of 'fear of man' is to agree with God's word. Here are some scriptures to start meditating on. Continue to search the scriptures for yourself and let them build your faith in God and His word.

Fear of Man Scripture

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Mat 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
Mat 10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Mat 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Pro 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

1 Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Jesus was and is the example of this for us.

Psa 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Psa 33:19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Psa 33:20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
Psa 33:21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Psa 33:22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Psa 60:11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Psa 60:12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

We now know who our enemies are. Eph 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

So, as we continue to do the walkout, the 5 steps to overcome the fear of man, 'the fear of man' will be recognized and defeated.

The Five Steps to Overcoming Fear of Man:

1. Recognize the negative thought of fear of man
2. Repent and renounce to come out of agreement with the fear of man
3. Remove it by casting it down - 2 Cor. 10:5 the thought of fear of man
4. Stop Replay of the fear of man
5. Reframe your thoughts with God's truth

Fear of Man brings a snare

Fear of Rejection in Relationships

Do you Fear of Rejection in Love?

Fear of Man brings a snare

Did you know the fear of man robs your destiny? Do you have a fear of rejection in relationships? Why? That fear of man is really a need for acceptance, and that person will do anything to find acceptance by avoiding confrontation or not having their own voice or opinion to keep peace at all costs.

God has a calling on your life! Are you going to let the enemy rob you? Did you know that if a man rejects your opinion, it is not the end of the world?

That Spirit of Fear keeps you from walking in your natural and supernatural gifts in you. When you realize you are in bondage, you know you could have done more for the Lord.

Peter walked with Jesus all that time, seeing miracle after miracle, and yet, in the end, he denied Christ. He had a fear of man that caused him to deny Christ. Later, he went on to do great things. Doing what God calls us to does not necessarily mean it's a Full-Time Ministry position.

•Have you lost a child? Possibly death- miscarriage, disease, adoption, abortion.
•Have you lost a parent or spouse? In death, divorce.
•Have you lost a home and belongings? Due to death, divorce, unemployment, catastrophic weather?
•Have you lost the ability to work and are disabled for a season? Due to disease or an accident?

These are just a few examples of things that we all experience in one way or another. If you have overcome with God in victory to peace and joy in Christ, is someone waiting to hear how you do this? How do you survive and want to live another day. How can they be healed?

So when you study Fear, Stress, and Physiology and learn how Fear and Trauma rob you of so very much of His Joy in this life! You get excited at Knowing that God is waiting for the Truth in His word to override what the enemy has meant for evil! That you can now walk in complete wholeness- His Peace. (nothing missing, nothing broken) That is the Good News! Selah

Do you suffer from social or generalized anxiety?

Jesus loves you and wants to take your social and/or generalized anxiety from you so that you can live an abundant and whole life in Christ Jesus, reaching your desired goals either in life or your career. I want to see as many as possible receive freedom, peace, and confidence in what God created you to become with purpose.

Practical Steps out of Spirit of Fear

Practical Steps From the Spirit of Fear

What is the spiritual Root of Fear

Practical Steps out of Spirit of Fear

What is fear? Fear is a worry, projecting fear, etc. It can be a worrying issue at the job, worry over finances, worries over your children. It can be stressful, which is internal by some expectation you put on yourself or by others trying to perform and having that fear of man, failure, rejection if you do not do a good job, and many other types of fear. More symptoms of fear...

Some of the symptoms of fear:
  • cold hands,
  • cold feet,
  • tension in the neck or soreness,
  • leg cramps,
  • racy mind,
  • confused thinking when overwhelmed with life.

  1. Make a decision (resist) and tell God you don't want fear anymore. You need to make a bold declaration to the Lord. I do not accept the fear in your life anymore.
  2. Ask God to discern how fear is impacting your life. Find out where fear entered your life.
  3. Repent to God, specifically for each way you have given into fear, not trusted Him, and not believed in His Word. You have to do that when fear is present. That means when you are having a panic attack or struggling with fear, repent to fear because fear is a sin. It is opposite to God because everything about God is faith. Fear is a spirit, according to 2 Timothy 1:7: "He did not give us a spirit of fear but of sound mind...
  4. Ask God to forgive you for these sins or fears you have entertained and to work in your heart so that you can genuinely trust and believe God and be free from fear.
  5. Walk in this every day. How do you break old habits? You are developing new habits by doing this daily until you have God as your faith instead of being ruled by fear and anxiety. That means to ask God to deliver you from this spirit of fear.
  6. When fear tries to come, quote the word at it or the enemy. 2 Timothy 1:7 for God has not given me a spirit of fear but of a sound mind. The word is a spiritual weapon. Ask the Lord to help you to believe his word as truth, and will not believe what fear is saying to you anymore. Look up the promises of God in scripture to combat fear.
  7.  Find a ministry that understands deliverance and can work to bring you to freedom. Especially if a person has had trauma. Trauma brings in fear that can grip, so look for a ministry to deal with the spirit of fear.

Every time we feel fear rising up in us, we have to decide what we will believe. When you believe in God's word, which repeatedly declares that when you trust Him, He will protect and care for you and save you from all your trouble or anxiety. Or will we accept the fear that speaks against the word of God?

This is a part you play to get fear defeated in your life. You must continually choose to believe God no matter what things might look like to you in your natural eyes or mind. Then, you will have a living faith in the word of god to come to pass in your lives.
Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life whom shall I be afraid of?

Fear of Man Bringeth a Snare

Do You Have Fear of Man?

If you are breathing in God's Kingdom, God has a calling on your life! Are you going to let the enemy rob you? Will you let the Fear of Man stop you under the guise -It is not sitting there waiting for you with a title slapped on it? Guess what no need for Perfection, not Perfect, or maybe not healed in everything YOU think you should be, before walking in it? Had I known that it was the spirit of fear that stopped me from speaking out loud? From walking in the gifts that were naturally and supernaturally IN me, I could have done so much more for the Lord and walked in such Joy so much sooner. It's just a very big mistake to waste another day.

Peter walked with Jesus all that time, seeing miracle after miracle and yet in the end he denied Christ. Later he went on to do great things. Doing what God calls us to does not necessarily mean it's a Full-Time Ministry position, But every time it involves helping and serving others. Let me give you some simple examples of God's purposes and calling and what that might look like.

  • Have you lost a child? Possibly death- miscarriage, disease, adoption, abortion.
  • Have you lost a parent or spouse? In death, divorce.
  • Have you lost a home and belongings? Due to death, divorce, unemployment, catastrophic weather?

Do You Follow Traditions That Are Dear To You But Are Not Scriptural!

Do You Follow Traditions of Man?

Traditions of man nullify the word of god

Why do you think Jesus told the scribes and Pharisees (in Matthew 15:1-3) when he answered them about not washing their hands before they ate, "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your traditions?"

Did you know that in the Old Testament, in the laws of Moses given by God, there is no mention anywhere in scripture that they had to wash before they ate? Many laws were added to the laws of the Jewish people by the Pharisees and scribes.

This was a tradition of man. So, Jesus was pointing out to the scribes and Pharisees that they were following the laws of man and not God.

Then Jesus says in Matthew 15:4 (where it was written in the law "For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death."

Could the scribes and Pharisees be more hung up on their laws than the law of God to Moses? They followed the tradition of man and not what God's word said?

Does that sound familiar in the church today? Do we follow or do rituals that are not in the written word? For example, look at all the traditions in the Catholic church; many of the traditions came
after about 400 years later.

I'm not picking on the Catholic church but using them as an example of how the church brings division within each other through the traditions of man. I'm sure all denominations are guilty in one form or
another. Here are examples of what I'm talking about. This is after the death of Christ.

church traditions that are not in the bible

375 - Veneration of angels and dead saints. What does the word say about praying to dead saints? It is forbidden in the word of God.

394 - The Mass, as a daily celebration, adopted.

431 - The worship of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the use of the
term, "Mother of God," as applied to her, originated in the Council
of Ephesus.

500 - Priests began to dress differently from the laity.

593 - The doctrine of Purgatory was first established by Gregory the
Great. As the language of prayer and worship in
churches, the Latin language was also imposed by Pope Gregory I. 600 years after Christ.

The Word of God forbids praying and teaching in an unknown tongue. (I
Cor. 14:9).

600 - The Bible teaches that we pray to God alone. In the primitive
church, prayers were never directed to Mary or dead saints. This
practice began in the Roman Church.

(Matt. 11:28; Luke 1:46; Acts 10:25-26; 14:14-18)

610 - The Papacy is of pagan origin. The title of pope or universal
bishop was first given to the bishop of Rome by the wicked emperor
Phocas

This he did to spite Bishop Ciriacus of Constantinople, who had
justly excommunicated him for his having caused the assassination of
his predecessor, Emperor Mauritius. Gregory 1, then bishop of Rome,
refused the title, but his successor, Boniface III, first assumed
title "pope."

Jesus did not appoint Peter to the headship of the apostles and
forbade any such notion. (Lk. 22:24-26; Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18; I
Cor. 3:11).

Note:-- Nor is there any mention in Scripture, nor in history, that
Peter ever was in Rome, much less that he was pope there for 25
years; Clement, 3rd bishop of Rome, remarks that there is no real 1st
century evidence that Peter ever was in Rome."

709 - The kissing of the Pope's feet

It had been a pagan custom to kiss the feet of emperors. The Word of
God forbids such practices. (Read Acts 10:25-26; Rev. 19:10; 22:9).

750 - The Temporal power of the Popes

When Pepin, the usurper of the throne of France, descended into
Italy, called by Pope Stephen II to war against the Italian
Lombards, he defeated them and gave the city of Rome and surrounding
territory to the pope. Jesus expressly forbade such a thing, and He
refused worldly kingship. (Read Matt. 4:8-9; 20:25-26; John
18:38).

788 - Worship of the cross, images and relics was authorized

This was by order of Dowager Empress Irene of Constantinople, who
first caused to pluck the eyes of her own son, Constantine VI, and
then called a church council at the request of Hadrian I, pope of
Rome at that time.

Such practice is called simply IDOLATRY in the Bible, and is severly
condemned. (Read Ex. 20:4; 3:17; Deut. 27:15; Psalm 115).

850 - Holy Water, mixed with a pinch of salt and blessed by the
priest, was authorized.

890 - The veneration of St. Joseph began

965 - The baptism of bells was instituted by Pope John XIV

995 - Canonization of dead saints, first by Pope John XV

Every believer and follower of Christ is called saint in the Bible.
(Read Rom. 1:7; I Col. 1:2).

998 - Fasting on Fridays and during Lent were imposed

Imposed by popes said to be interested in the commerce of fish.
(Bull, or permit to eat meat), some authorities say, began in the
year 700. This is against the plain teaching of the Bible. (Read
Matt. 15:10; I Cor. 10:25; I Tim. 4:1-3).

The Mass was developed gradually as a sacrifice; attendance made
obligatory in the 11th century.

The Bible teaches that the sacrifice of Christ was offered once and
for all, and is not to be repeated, but only commemorated in the
Lord's Supper. (Read Heb. 7:27; 9:26-28; 10:10-14).

1079 - The celibacy of the priesthood was decreed by Pope Hildebrand,
Boniface VII

Jesus imposed no such rule, nor did any of the apostles. On the
contrary, St. Peter was a married man, and St. Paul says that bishops
were to have wife and children. (Read I Tim. 3:2,5, and 12; Matt.
8:14-15).

1090 - The Rosary, or prayer beads was introduced by Peter the
Hermit, in the year 1090. Copied from Hindus and Mohammedans

The counting of prayers is a pagan practice and is expressly
condemned by Christ. (Matt. 6:5-13).

This list goes on and on but these are traditions of man. I'm using
this as an example. We are all guilty of doing so in our lives.
What I'm trying to say is that when man created traditions regardless
of what denomination, it brought division between the churches.

Can you imagine what it would be like if we all followed the word of
God and we all could be in harmony with each other? Maybe the laws
of the land against the church might not have ever come about? Think
about it?

I want to hear your thoughts on this. Again, I'm not picking on the
Catholic church but using them as an example of traditions of man.
